I’ll most likely forget your name a couple minutes (or even seconds) after you tell it to me.
Sometimes, when I introduce myself to people I won’t even bother to pay attention when they reply with what their name is. I just tell them my name is Oliver (or O.D.) and then when they say their name I just let it go through one ear and out the other.
I don’t know why, but I’m just like that.
There are only two times when I remember a person’s name.
- When I talk to them more and realize that the person is actually pretty dope/interesting. Once I become aware that this is a person who I like, I usually say something along the lines of, “Oh btw, what’s your name again? My bad, I’m forgetful with names”. That way I could get the name again and remember this time.
- If it’s a girl who I think is hella cute. If I’m attracted the moment I meet her I’ll make sure to remember her name, so I could add her on FB afterwards if I already haven’t gotten her number. (But since I have a gf now, this part of the list is irrelevant).
I “like” way too many posts that I see on Tumblr. If only there was a way to put them in categories like “funny”, “gifs”, “music”, “sexy”, “food”, “inspirational”, “photography”, etc; It would be more convenient to look back on my liked posts that way.
∞ March 31st, 2011 at 8:38 pm I used to steal so much when I was a kid.Looking back on my childhood, I realize how much of a problem I had with stealing and shoplifting.
When my parents and I would go grocery shopping, I’d wait until they’re done paying for everything. Once they’d be done, I’d get one of those plastic bags and tell my parents I’ll meet them at the car. When my parents would leave I’d go around the store, putting stolen items in the bag, then on my way out the store I’d swing the bag over the detectors so that it won’t ring.
Also, since my mom works in a big company, she has a lot of co-workers and we’d always get invited to their house parties. A lot of the co-workers had kids, so that means there’s likely to be an N64 at the house. I’d end up stealing a lot of N64 games and Pokemon cards at all the parties. I figured why not, since I’m most likely not even going to see those kids again. I’d steal right in front of their faces without them even noticing, too.
I even stole a Playstation game from my neighbor, then I gave it to my other neighbor as a present. When my older friends got into HeroClix, I ended up going to the local comic book store and stole all the rare HeroClix figures that they had on display. It was a small store, but I somehow managed to shoplift without anyone noticing.
Anyways, this is getting too long, but to make it short, I stopped shoplifting in 8th grade. I got caught stealing Corn Nuts at a liquor store, and for some reason that little incident was enough to make me quit stealing. Even though the lady who caught me was nice about it and didn’t make it a big deal, the feeling I got from getting caught changed me. That moment made me realize that there is a possibility of getting caught, which was all I needed to know in order to stop my bad habit of stealing.
I haven’t stole a single thing ever since, and I haven’t gotten an urge to steal, either.
